Senn Painting Co. — Coastal RI Paint Contractor
Est. 1999 South County, RI Licensed & Insured EPA RRP Certified
Coastal Rhode Island's Painting Contractor

Your exterior paint is the only thing standing
between your home
and the coast.

Salt air eats paint. Most jobs on coastal RI homes fail within five years because the prep was wrong. We've been doing this since 1999. We know what holds.

Most coastal paint jobs fail early.
Here's what we do differently.

The Rhode Island coast is hard on exteriors. Salt air, freeze-thaw cycles, high humidity. These homes need a contractor who understands that.

// COASTAL PREP
Bare wood gets oil-based primer. Always.
Most painters skip this step because it adds time. On cedar shingles within a mile of salt water, skipping it means your paint starts failing in three years. We don't skip it.
// MATERIALS
Duration and Emerald on every coastal exterior.
Sherwin-Williams Duration and Emerald lines are formulated for high-humidity environments. There are cheaper options. We don't use them here.
// BUILDER STANDARD
We work with Sweenor Builders on new construction.
Builder relationships require a different level of reliability — schedules, walk-throughs, punch lists. That standard applies to every project we take, not just builder work.
// CERTIFIED
EPA RRP certified for pre-1978 homes.
If your home was built before 1978, the law requires certified contractors. We're certified. Ask for documentation before hiring anyone who isn't.

Five questions. We'll know if we're a fit
before we drive out.

We don't estimate every job. We ask a few things first. Saves your time and ours.

01 /
What are we working on? Exterior, interior, new construction, cabinets?
SELECT ONE OR MORE
02 /
What's the surface? Cedar shingles, Hardie board, wood clapboard, stucco?
AFFECTS PREP SCOPE SIGNIFICANTLY
03 /
How's the current paint holding up? Solid, some peeling, or significant failure?
NO WRONG ANSWER — JUST AFFECTS HOW WE PLAN
04 /
When are you looking to start, and is your timeline firm?
WE BOOK 4–8 WEEKS OUT IN PEAK SEASON
05 /
What matters more: the lowest price, or the longest-lasting result?
WE'RE NOT THE CHEAPEST. IF YOU NEED CHEAPEST, WE CAN POINT YOU ELSEWHERE.

Work in your area.

These are real jobs, real addresses, real surfaces. Ask us about any of them.

"Mason walked the exterior himself before the estimate. Pointed out rot we didn't know about and explained exactly what prep the shingles needed. Job held through two hard winters. Nobody's called back."
D. Harrington
Narragansett, RI
"We've had painters come through and disappear for days at a time. Senn had someone on site every morning. Mason checked in at the end of every day. That alone made it worth it."
K. Fontaine
South Kingstown, RI
"Used them on a Sweenor build in Westerly. Schedule was tight and they hit every milestone. Interior finish was clean — no touch-up list at the end. That's rare."
T. Keegan
Westerly, RI
"Asked them to match a 20-year-old trim color on a historical Newport-style home. They got a spectrophotometer reading done and matched it. Nobody else even offered that."
M. Elliot
North Kingstown, RI
